Rebecca Drew (Creative Sparks, Director) is excited to be a part of Hardscrabble Theater’s children’s program! While Rebecca has been seen performing across Long Island, Queens, and Manhattan and even recently appeared on the Hardscrabble stage in their first ever musical, her day job consists of being a NYCDOE Special Education Teacher. Rebecca received her MSed in Special Education 1-6 and BSed in General Education 1-6 from St. John’s University. The combination of Rebecca’s professional experience alongside her theatrical experience over the years is one Rebecca is happy to bring to the Creative Sparks program.

Michele Brisco is thrilled to join the Hardscrabble Theater community this season! Her love of storytelling began in her great-grandmother's cozy Italian apartment, where stories were shared with warmth, laughter, and heart. Since then, that passion has shaped many parts of her life—from performing on stage and writing in neighborhood coffee shops to filming for the U.S. Army and now collaborating with the HardScrabble family.
Michele believes that everyone has a story worth telling and is passionate about helping others discover and share their own creative voice and journey. She holds a B.A. in Communications from Penn State University.
As a teaching artist and director, she has directed productions including Godspell Jr., Into the Woods Jr., Junie B. Jones the Musical, and more! She is a graduate of Community-Word Project's Teaching Artist Project (Class of 2025) and currently serves as the Education Coordinator at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts. When she's not in a rehearsal room, she performs with her cover band, Brand New Past, she auditions (reach for the stars!), explores local coffee shops, and rarely says no to a new adventure, trip, or restaurant. She is grateful to be part of this season and can't wait to share this story with you.
